FAQs

What type of wax do you use?

We use a specially formulated soft chocolate wax. We also use a hard wax.

What’s the difference between a Brazilian and a Bikini wax?

A Brazilian wax removes all hair from the vaginal area. If desired, it also includes the tummy strip (this area is specifically the width of the navel down to the vaginal area) and the inner butt cheeks.

Do you offer men’s services?

Yes, we have a list of services for men including Bro-zilians waxes.

Is there a minimum age for waxing?

Yes, clients must be 18 years or older for any intimate services such as Brazilian or Bikini waxing. Clients must be at least 16 years older for a Bikini wax and 17 years old for a Brazilian wax. Additionally, the client must be accompanied by a guardian.

Is waxing painful?

Based on feedback from our clients, our specially formulated chocolate wax is known to be less painful than other waxes. But please keep in mind that everyone has a different level of pain tolerance.

If I shaved how long should I wait before waxing?

At minimum, the hair should be as long as a long grain of rice.

AFTER WAXING YOU MUST WAIT A MINIMUM OF:

Brazilian/Bikini – 3-4 weeks

Underarm – 2 weeks

Legs – 2-3 weeks

Facial Waxing – 1-2 weeks

Is it okay to shave or use a hair removal product such as Nair in between my wax services?

No! Shaving in between your waxing appointments will make your waxing experience more uncomfortable. Additionally, you will delay experiencing the benefits of waxing.

What should I expect during my Brazilian/bikini wax service?

Brazilian/Bikini waxing is a very intimate service. Rest assured, our estheticians will try to make your experience as comfortable as possible.

Your esthetician will ask you a few questions and then ask that you undress from the waist down. During the service you will be required to hold certain positions for a period of time, such as “the butterfly”. If not already requested, the esthetician will ask if you would like removal of hair from the tummy strip and inner butt cheeks. If you want the hair removed from the inner butt cheeks you may be asked to assist by holding your butt cheeks apart or lifting both your legs, with your knees to your chest. After the service is complete you will be silky smooth and feeling like a new woman!

How long does my hair have to be to get waxed and should I trim?

At minimum, the hair should be the length of a grain of rice. There can never be too much hair. We do not require our clients to trim; but you are welcome to do so trim if you like. If your Esthetician determines that trimming is necessary, she will do so at the time of your service.

I experienced a breakout after my wax service. Did something go wrong?

Some clients may experience a reaction to waxing that causes histamine to be released. This is a normal reaction for some clients and it typically goes away in 1 – 24 hours.

If you experience a reaction much later after waxing, this could possibly be folliculitis. This typically occurs if the pores have been exposed to bacteria. It is important to allow the skin to breath and to only be exposed to clean, dry clothing. For 24 hours, you should not have sex, exercise, swim, use a hot tubs or jacuzzi, take a bath or a HOT shower or be exposed to tight clothing. Additionally, exfoliate 24-48 hours after your wax, 3-4 times a week.

I just started my cycle. Can I still receive my wax?

As long as you’re comfortable. We just ask that you wear a FRESH tampon. There are usually tampons available in our bathroom.

I’m pregnant, can I still wax?

Absolutely! Please keep in mind that during pregnancy the skin can sometimes be more sensitive. BUT, everyone’s pain tolerance is different.

Can my esthetician give me a shape or design in the vaginal area?

Absolutely! We can provide a landing strip or triangle.

How often should I wax?

Brazilian/Bikini – Every 4 weeks

Underarm – Every 2 weeks

Leg – Every 3 weeks

Facial – Every 1-2 weeks

Brows – Every 2 weeks

How should I prepare for my wax service?

Drink plenty of water, keep skin moisturized, avoid caffeine, alcohol and exfoliate 3-4 times a week. (Do not exfoliate 24 hours before your wax service). Additionally, if you are receiving a bikini or Brazilian wax, STRETCH! You will be required to hold certain positions for a period of time.

Are there any activities that should be avoided after getting a wax?

For 24 hours, you should not have sex, exercise, swim, use a hot tub or jacuzzi, take a bath or a HOT shower or be exposed to tight clothing. Additionally, do not exfoliate. You may resume exfoliating 24-48 hours after your wax, 3 – 4 times a week.

How can I help decrease the opportunity for ingrown?

It is very important to wax on the recommended schedule and exfoliate. Additionally, do not shave or use any other hair removal methods in between waxes.

How many locations do you have and where are they located?

We have 2 locations. Bronzeville and South Holland.

Can I bring a friend with me into my service?

Due to COVID-19, we do not allow anyone to wait in the waiting room if they are not being serviced. Additionally, we do not allow visitors in the service room.

Can I bring my child with me?

Yes! It’s hard getting away sometimes. Small children are permitted if they are able to sit safely in the service room with you.

I’m experiencing skin irritation, what should I do?

Sometimes clients may experience irritation after waxing. Hives will sometimes appear due to the skin’s natural reaction to ‘trauma”. This is called a histamine reaction. This will usually show itself during the wax and sometimes shortly after and will typically disappear within 24 hours.

Please be sure to follow the aftercare instructions. If something other than a histamine reaction occurs, please contact us.
